Radiographs (X-ray) are adjutants in dental treatment and may be taken during any procedure safely without any fear of excessive radiation to the patient.

Regular brushing and flossing cannot remove the thin layer of plaque which builds up on teeth completely. As a result this builds up and hardens to form a hard material on the teeth which can irritate the gums and if left unattended can cause bleeding spongy gums, bad breath and further progresses to severe gum problems.
Professional teeth cleaning removes the hardened tartar with the help of ultrasonic scaling instruments which have a water spray to flush out everything. A polishing is a must to smoothen out the roughness caused by the tartar. It is a Painless procedure and usually completed in a single sitting.

Dental implants replace missing teeth roots and forms a stable foundation for replacement teeth that look and feel and function like your natural teeth.
They can be used to replace single teeth, several teeth or the entire set. This increases stability and comfort restoration of natural chewing ability.

The implants are placed under local anaesthesia and sutures are placed after this. The implants are allowed to heal and once they are stabilised which usually takes 3-6 months, the final measurements are taken and the crown/bridge/denture is then fabricated and given to the patient.

A Root Canal Treatment (RCT) involves, removal of the tooth decay, dead nerve and pus within the tooth, cleaning the inside of the tooth / root and filling of the root.

Is it painful?
Dentistry has progressed by leaps and bounds to provide you a virtually pain free RCT. If you do experienced any discomfort a local anaesthesia will be administered in the sitting to ensure a comfortable appointment.

How long does it take?
Usually the RCT is done in 3 sittings of 30 minutes each. It can be shortened to be single visits or 2 sittings according to your convenience.
1st visit: clean up decay and removal of infection and placement of a temporary filling with a medicament.
2nd visit: Thoroughly cleaning and washing with the medicament.
3rd visit: Filling of the root.

Bleeding spongy gums, bad breath, loosening teeth, drifting teeth, gum recession are all signs of underlying gum problems. All these cases can be treated with a varied range of periodontal treatment.
According to the gum problem and depending on the severity of the problem deep cleaning or minor gum surgeries can be carried out. Depigmentation of severely dark gums can also be done.

Many patients complain of sensitivity and there could be many varied reasons for this. Sensitivity could be because of enamel wearing away due to faulty brushing in which case fillings will have to be done. Gum problems also cause sensitivity which has to be treated and a desensitising mouthwash will be provided.
Cavities also cause sensitivity which need to be filled Tooth mousse is a revolutionary product which also decreases sensitivity. This also provides great relief from sensitivity and reduces incidence of new decay forming on regular use. Advised for children as well. Available in different flavours.

This takes just one visit of one hour. Smile Spa will apply a patented whitening gel to your teeth. The gel is then activated by a matrix of LED light operating at an optimum frequency. There are 6 treatments of 2 minutes each. You can sit back and relax and listen to music as you get your teeth whitened. Some patients may experience increased tooth sensitivity for a day or two for which a tooth mousse is provided
A take home kit is provided for maintenance.

A custom mould (tray) will be made using the impression of your teeth, which will be given to you along with the bleaching kit. The gel is to be used in the tray and placed over the teeth only for 30 minutes every day. A Tooth mousse is also included which helps reduce sensitivity which some people may experience. 6-7 sessions are recommended for good results. 4 tubes of bleaching material are included in the kit. Usually one tube remains which can be used for touch up after 6 months.

Ceramic veneers are thin, tooth coloured laminates cemented to the front of the teeth. Just a thin layer of the tooth is shaved off for this purpose and hence there is minimal loss of tooth substance.
Veneers are done to:
– Hide gaps between the teeth.
– Lengthen teeth that are too short.
– Cover discolouration.
– Correct slight misalignment of teeth.

They are prepared chair side by the Dentist himself and can be completed in a single sitting using composite resin materials, but they require more maintenance and care than the ceramic veneers. They can discolour in time due to intake of tea and coffee and in case of smokers.

Our practice is a “Amalgam free zone”. Tooth coloured fillings are practically invisible because the new age fillings materials that mimic the colour of natural teeth. Composite resins are the materials used for such fillings. These type of fillings can be used in the front as well as back teeth. Composites are very suitable for rebuilding the original form in the area of front teeth, in damage of the necks of the teeth and also when edges of incisors have been broken off in an accident. Stronger composites are available which can be used on the biting surface of back teeth. It is a very good choice for replacing old discoloured Silver Amalgam fillings. It involves removal only of the decayed part of the tooth or the old fillings and placing the tooth colour fillings, thereby preserving tooth structure.

When cavities are very big and there is a requirement for stronger filling material, ceramic fillings or inlays are done. They also can be used to replace big unaesthetic silver fillings. These are made in ceramic material which has unmatched aesthetics and load bearing capability.
